Religious Education at St. Patricia
Religious Education Programs K-8, Teen RCIA, and Adult RCIA
Registration for our Full Year Religious Education Program is now underway!
Looking ahead, we pray our world will be healed and our lives will be more back to “normal” when we return in September for our new RE year. We can’t wait until we are all reunited in person at our church and our school! It will be a day of great celebration! Be sure to sign up and share the registration form with other families you may know, so we may keep the Catholic faith and the love of God alive and flourishing in our community!
What grades are offered for the Full Year RE Program?
We offer RE classes for Kindergarten through 8th grade. Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
What are the requirements for children to receive the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation?
Children must be baptized. The Archdiocese requires the children to take part in a two year preparation program for the Sacraments of Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation. The Sacrament of First Reconciliation is generally received in Second Grade, prior to receiving First Holy Communion. First Holy Communion is the second of our three Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism is our first). It is through these sacraments that we become full members of the Church. Our third Sacrament of Initiation, Confirmation, is celebrated in the spring of Eighth Grade.
Do you offer any classes for Teens who are in need of receiving Sacraments?
Yes, they may register for our Teen RCIA Program. It is a one year program which runs from September through March. Classes are held Tuesday evenings from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
Do you offer any program for Adults who are in need of receiving Sacraments or would like to become a Catholic?
Yes, they may register for our Adult RCIA Program. It is a one year program which runs from October through March or April. Classes are held Monday evenings.
Where are the registration forms located?
You can find our registration forms on our website, in the church gathering space, or at the rectory. You can also request registration forms by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office at
SIRE and Vacation Bible School: Unfortunately, we will not be able to offer our SIRE, Summer Intensive Religious Education Classes or our Vacation Bible School Program this June. Hopefully, these two wonderful programs will return in June of 2022. But, for this year, we will be offering a FREE, virtual, Vacation Bible School program for all of our parish families in the summer months! We will keep you updated on the details.
Adult faith formation addresses the needs of those in the Saint Patricia community who are seeking to deepen their faith.
The R.C.I.A. Program is a process that helps inquiring adults learn more about the Catholic faith. In questioning their faith and joining others, they learn and discover principals of our faith and church. After inquiring about the Catholic Church, individuals commit their desire to become Catholic. Members are received into the church at the Easter Vigil on Holy Saturday.

The Religious Education Program is designed for our children who attend public school and return to the parish on Tuesday evenings or during the Summer Intensive program to hear the word of God, learn our faith traditions, and discover God's work in our lives.
Children's First Reconciliation is received in Grade 2 prior to First Eucharist. First Holy Communion is one of our three sacraments of initiation. It is through these sacraments of initiation that we become full members of the Church. Confirmation is usually celebrated in the spring of eighth grade
